Prior To

Joining

Start by pre feeding Ewes with cereal Maxi Mate TMR .Provide free choice B4Mate. Pre Joining treatments with Vitamin B12 and Vitamin A,D & E will also be helpful at this time. Rams need to be provided with Vitamin B12, A,D & E as well as access to grain mix.

Feed Ewes at 100-200 grams per day of Maxi Mate TMR plus hay or pasture. Feed Rams @100- 200 grams/hd/day of Maxi Mate TMR plus hay or pasture.

Water, treatment with Zinc&A Liquid at 5 ml/hd/day for Ewes & Rams should start now.

Maintain Ewe at 3.5 CS

Maintain Rams @ 3.0-4 CS

1. Vitamin B12 Injection (Packet rate) Vitamin A, D & E drench or Injection.

3. B4Mate @ 20grams/hd/ day

4. Quality Cereal, Pasture or Legume Hay.

5. Maxi Mate TMR @ 100-200 gms/hd/day

6. Zinc&A Liquid @ 5ml/hd/day

16 Days

before Joining

Remove Maxi Mate TMR from Ewes for 7 days. Maintain access to B4Mate and Zinc&A Liquid. Continue feeding rams.

Continue Rams on Maxi Mate TMR, B4Mate and Zinc&A Liquid. If Pasture is ideal, reduce Grain if Rams are at risk of becoming "over Fat".

Maintain Ram 4 CS

1. Quality Cereal, Pasture or Legume Hay.

2. B4 Mate @ 20 grams/hd/ day

3. Maxi Mate TMR

6. Zinc&A Liquid @ 5 ml/hd/day

9 Days

Before Joining

Re- introduce grain mix to Ewes.

Continue Rams & Ewes onMaxi Mate TMR, Zinc&A liquid with free choice B4Mate

1. Quality Cereal, Pasture or Legume Hay.

2. Maxi Mate TMR @ 100-200 gm/day

3 Zinc& Liquid

5. B4 Mate @ 20 grams/hd/day

Continue as above

Keep an eye on Ram condition

1. Quality Cereal, Pasture or Legume Hay.

2. B4 Mate @ 20 grams/hd/ day

3. Maxi Mate TMR @ 100-200 gm/hd/day

6. Zinc&A Liquid 5 ml/hd/day

Halfway thru Joining

To

10 days after finish

Reduce grain feeding gradually until grain is fully eliminated by day 10 after end of joining. Stop all feeding of Liquids and grain for both Ewes & Rams. Provide good quality pasture and hay for 4 weeks.

Leave Ewe alone and quiet. No mustering. Maintain 3.5 CS

Ram back to Ram Paddock if all Ewes picked up.

Only allow Mineral Mix or other supplements if directed. Should not be required until second trimester if sufficient pasture.
