10-14 Days before entry to Stubble |
Any purchased stock need treatment with Compass Boost Liquid [not currently available] @ 5 ml/hd/day in water. If the stubble contains are large of amount of crop residue, pay attention to imprint feeding small amount of grain before entry. Do not allow hungry sheep access without backgrounding. |
Vaccinate at least 10-14 days prior to entry to stubble with 3 in 1 vaccine. Good opportunity for FEC test prior to drenching. Vitamin A and Zinc levels are very important at this stage Boost Liquid supplies ample quantities. |
1.vaccinate with 3in1 or 6in1 vaccine 2.Scabby Mouth vaccine may be required Vitamin AD and E drench 3.B12 all sheep at packet rate 4. Internal Parasite drench as 1st or second drench. Consider FEC test. |
Day of Entry to Stubble |
Compass Boost Liquid @ 5ml hd/day. Limit any hard mustering. Allow stock to take their time to adapt. Feed hay the night before to fill up stock |
Make sure all water points are in good working order, check fence line for weeds. |

2-5 Days after Entry |
Make sure water is cool and running. Continue with Boost Liquid @ 5 ml hd/day |
Check for lameness or stiff legged gait, scours, mucous covered faeces or regurgitated feed. Often combined or singular signs of grain intolerance or engorgement. |
Continue as above for all. May need to consider free choice buffer mix. |
From day 6 till end |
Monitor intake of feed and condition score of stock. When leaf residue and grain have been consumed, move lambs or young wethers to better feed and replace with older ewes Continue water treatment of Boost Liquid for 14 days @ 5 ml hd/day |
Watch for eye problems either weepy, pinkeye or snotty noses are indicators of other problems. Continue with Boost Liquid |
